General informationen

In order to be able to study an undergraduate degree programme with restricted local admissions, it is necessary to apply via the online application portal ALMA (special features for DoSV degree programmes - see above and follow the link provided there). You can submit up to three applications for admission. All three applications will be treated equally.

Please submit the application in Alma for the first semester only after you have uploaded all necessary documents. Submission of documents later is only possible by e-mail and will lead to delays.

How do I apply for the first semester?

Register on the application and enrolment portal ALMA at the University of Tübingen. After completing the registration in ALMA, a user account will be available to you. In your user account on ALMA, you can then submit an online application for admission (including the upload of all your necessary documents) to the course of study you wish to pursue. Only if you have additional documents to hand in due to special applications, you need to send those by post to the student secretary.

Compact and combination courses

In the compact course (monobachelor), application and enrolment is only for one subject, the main subject. In the case of a combined degree programme, the application and enrolment is for one major and one minor subject. If only the major or minor subject of a combination study program has restricted admission, an application is also required, then only for the partial study program with restricted admission. The type of program and the possible combinations are listed here.

Where can I find information about my current application status?

Once you have completed your application for admission online in ALMA, your application will be displayed there. The status changes of your application are displayed here and, after the admission procedure for the respective degree program, whether you have been admitted or not. You can only view notifications of admission via this account.

You will receive an e-mail notification from ALMA whenever there is a change of status. Therefore, please check the mailbox of the e-mail address you have provided regularly to keep up to date on the application process.

Should your personal data change during the application and award procedure, please send an e-mail with your change requests to the following address: studierendensekretariatspam prevention@verwaltung.uni-tuebingen.de. The changes will then be implemented promptly.

I got an admission letter. What comes next?

If your application is accepted after the selection and approval of the ranking lists, you will be admitted. You will receive an e-mail notifying you of a change of status and the letter of admission will be available for download from your account on ALMA. Please check entries in your application portal regularly. Notifications of admission are usually issued at the beginning of August for the winter semester and at the beginning of February for the summer semester.

Once you have been admitted, you can submit an online enrolment application for your application in your account on ALMA. A corresponding button will now be made available to you when you enter your application. Please also note the links and instructions on your notification. If you are already enrolled at the University of Tübingen and wish to change your course of study, please use the form for transfer. You will find this form on the website Umschreibung.

Please note that your letter of admission states a deadline for enrolment. At least the signed enrolment application together with the printout of your letter of admission and a certified copy of your university entrance qualification must have been received by the student secretary of the University of Tübingen by the end of this period in order for you to be enrolled. The same applies to the receipt of the application for re-registration. If you do not meet this deadline, the notification of admission becomes invalid and enrolment is then no longer possible. Preferential admission

If an admission cannot be accepted, applicants can be pre-selected in the subsequent allocation procedure if the legal requirements (§ 30 Hochschulzulassungsverordnung) are met. Further information can be found here.

I received a rejection. Can I participate in the succession procedure?

All notifications are only available online. If you are rejected on the grounds of lack of places, you will automatically take part in a possible move-up procedure. If you are no longer interested in the study place, we ask you in the interest of other applicants to withdraw your application via your user account. If this is not possible, please inform us at the following e-mail address that you do not accept your place: studierendensekretariatspam prevention@zv.uni-tuebingen.de

In addition, remaining places will be allocated by a lot procedure after completion of all succession procedures.

Application for a higher semester

Places for a higher semester are allocated via the allocation procedure in our application and enrolment portal ALMA. We will inform you about the application for a higher semester on a special website, which you can access via the following link: Advanced semesters.

Deadlines

Please note that your application will only be considered in the award procedure if it is complete, including the documents to be submitted

  • by 15.07. (24:00) at the latest for an application to the winter semester and
  • by 15.01. (24:00) at the latest for an application to the summer semester

via the Alma application portal of the University of Tübingen. Documents received after this date will not be considered.

Application and enrolment via ALMA

The application campaign for the winter semester 2024/2025 for undergraduate degree programs (e.g. Bachelor) is expected to start in the first week of June. We will announce on the ALMA homepage as soon as applications are possible.
